We offer mobile youth and community outreach within Wymondham and the county of Norfolk. The Bus is a unique venue for engagement projects creating a visual presence in communities which draws interest and gathers the community together. It is a safe and welcoming space for young people and communities to use.
Through building relationships with young people and members of the local community we can offer advice and signposting on issues including antisocial behaviour, drug/alcohol awareness, health and wellbeing, improving self-esteem and education/employment prospects.
The Bus offers a vehicle for offering a presence at local community events by providing a community cafe, youth activities or a base to deliver courses and workshops.
During the summer holidays 2019 we delivered a number of different family outreach activity days in various locations across Norfolk which reached several hundreds of people.
Working with Norfolk Police we have identified hot spot areas which would benefit from constructive activities to reduce antisocial behaviour and provide a safe space for young people to congregate. Wymondham Youth Bus will be delivering from at least 5 different areas in 2019. These are all areas where the rate of antisocial behaviour is higher than the county average, and where a regular presence of constructive community activities are welcomed.
